I recorded this is for a “least favorite song” comp put together by Sledding with Tigers!!!!!!!! Apologies if you like Bon Iver!!!!!! I think that’s supposed to come together around May 1st.
I had fun recording this, it’s the first time I’ve recorded electric guitars in like five years. I’d like to do some more like this in the future on original songs, so I hope you like it.
I made this cover and I am posting it here you can’t control me I am punk rock

Dear friends, I made a separate tumblr for my music. There’s a new song there if you are interested.
I figure people who like my art don’t necessarily like my music, and maybe someday vice versa. It’s probably better to have a focused blog anyhow ‘cause then I can post and write about music all I want without worrying about going off topic.
Question with 1 note
longstaircase asked: Is there anywhere I could download your BTM cover?
Just for you, I dusted off my bandcamp and uploaded it there. You can download it from there (for free of course)
And I hid all my old tracks wahaha

I’ve been wanting to cover this song for a while now. As each day passes with no job or financially successful future in sight, the lyrics of songs like these strike deeper and deeper (aside from the drinking references, dry as I am). I’ve been trying to write my own song to express such feelings, but for now, a cover, appropriately posted on a Wednesday, as the song is called, “Wednesday Night Drinkball,” by Bomb the Music Industry!
Don’t worry, someday your skill set will be wanted!

“Don’t Drown in the River,” rough of a song about moving back to the country/moving to the city/living in the city.
It’s not perfect (especially in the second part), but I figured this was a good time to post, since I’m moving to Richmond tomorrow, and this song is about moving out of Boston. So this song sort of covers the time frame I spent with my family, between Boston and Richmond. It’s supposed to be a duet, but I don’t have consistent access to a girl who can sing, ha ha. This recording is from about a month ago I think. It might be a little quiet, sorry aaaah. I still haven’t mastered getting my songs “loud” enough.
I might create a separate music blog one of these days. For now if you don’t care, just ignore it!

Does anyone following me play violin and want to help me out?
I’ve started a “band” with a few friends of mine and between the three of us we can more or less get the arrangements we want- however a huge part we’re missing is violin.
I really want it in our songs, but we don’t know any violinists and I’m not good enough to lay down some nice sounding tracks. We’re working on getting three tracks recorded now, so we can bring something to our shows once we have them. Even if you just did one song, it’d help a lot.
So I was thinking, “You know, why don’t I just ask the internet to help me out?” In this magical modern world, distance isn’t such a problem, as long as you have a microphone and e-mail. The mic doesn’t even need to be amazing- I figure lo-fi violin played on a real violin is better than synthesized hi-fi violin.
So I’m looking for someone who’d like to work with us and record some tracks. I’ll write some parts and such so you wont have to take that burden- I mean, I wont bore everyone else with the details now. But it’s not a hard thing to make music over the internet.
If you’re interested drop a message in my ask box, or send me an e-mail: ashwara(at)10km(dot)org
I’ll draw you a picture for your efforts or something!
Reblogs much appreciated!!

This came up on shuffle and I thought it was still kind of cool!
This was at least three years ago, before I wrote music with lyrics. Back then I’d export a midi from my scorewriting software and mess with it in garageband to make it sound less like crappy midi. This is one of the first songs I wrote that I ever considered “finished.”
I’m pretty sure this one was inspired by the Ico/Shadow of the Colossus soundtracks.

“It’s Nothing Really” or “Anything Less than an A is Failure!”
That’s one title there!
I want to put some piano in, but as usual I had limited time to record this before my parents got home. My trumpet playing was on point today though, so I’m happy about that. They mostly came out just right.
It also dearly calls for fiddle, but my violin is presently missing a string, and yours truly is presently missing talent.
I’ve only listened to it on headphones, so hopefully the volume is ok…
My favourite part is the key change near the end.
Here’s a screenshot of the lyrics, because formatting is important, and tumblr messes it up:

For my pal Yuj.
“No Such Thing” cover by John Mayer as played by myself.
I was like “Yuj I got a new guitar”
and she was like
“Play me something”
So I said, “What shall I play?”
And she named some John Mayer songs.
This was a really quick recording ha ha… I wasn’t super familiar with the song but I learned it and played it and recorded it in like 30 minutes @_@. I wanted ot get it done before my room mates got home.
I’ll do a better one for you later my friend. I totally messed up some of the lyrics ha ha.
