A short style test, to figure out palette/technique/rendering options/etc. It rendered kind of lighter than it’s supposed to be (it’s supposed to look like this? The vimeo grains kind of.. darkened it a little. Ha ha.) so I need to figure out what to do about that. And I think a shadow on the ground would have helped. Frame rate is a little quick too.. Sad that it’s a scene where Robin gets punched but this was the easier one to finish and had a reasonable number of frames.

Sword fight!! Simpler/rougher than last week’s because I was tired, but I think there are still some cool shots.
I don’t have many sword character’s so I borrowed my friends’ character Lulu from their webcomic A Well Lit Path which I highly recommend.

A fight scene!!! Animatic/rough animation. What will happen?
Drawn in Photoshop, composited in Premier. Despite less sleep and eating, making this was one of the best weeks of my life dang. Hopefully in the next couple of months I will tween and clean (and color and edit) it.

Here’s that storyboard/animatic! Some parts more animated than others. I think after putting it together, I could have used a few more pose outs, a little more cleanup, and at least one more shot insert, but In general I think the shots were pretty good/clear.
We were given the sound clip (Gollum from Lord of the Rings) and had to board it out with our choice of characters (we were told to use two, not one like in the movie). I used Chroniko and Kaiba from Kaiba.

Here’s a thing from a storyboard I was working on today and posted on twitter. The teacher said we could use whatever characters we wanted this week, so I’m using Kaiba and Chroniko. ha ha. If I have time to make an animatic (and it turns out well) I’ll post the whole thing.
We’re doing it to a sound clip of Gollum when he argues with himself so imagine that, ha ha.

I tried animating ashwara’s character Paveline from Para-Ten but ah… I didn’t achieve the style ha;; It’s a really good comic and pretty short, so you should check it out if you can!!
